Autoimmune diseases are when a person’s immune system mistakenly attacks their body. Normally the immune system is the first line of defense against bacteria and viruses but in this situation, the body starts attacking items like your joints or skin. While there’s no proven cause of autoimmune diseases, it’s believed that environmental factors and high fat, high sugar and highly processed foods lead to increased inflammation and could be a cause for increased inflammation and the body’s incorrect immune response.

Common Autoimmune diseases treated at LifeSource Wellness Care include:

Chronic infections are infections that last for extended periods of time and are very tough to get rid of. These types of infections typically occur in people with a compromised immune system and can be viral, bacterial, fungal or parasitic.

Radiation cancer treatments by their very nature are hard on the human body. Patients who have successfully beat cancer, are often left with heavy metals and other chemicals within their body, which need to be removed through a chelation therapy process. LifeSource Wellness Care specializes in treating cancer survivors, helping them to get their bodies back to a healthy state.

Hormonal issues such as a hormone imbalance can be caused by a variety of factors; symptoms can include: trouble sleeping, chronic acne, memory fog, stomach problems, mood swings, ongoing fatigue, appetite weight gain. LifeSource Wellness Care can help with the following hormonal issues for both women and men.

Heart conditions can occur naturally or can be due to lifestyle and diet choices. These issues can include the following conditions:

Angina, which is chest pain or discomfort caused by the heart muscle not getting enough oxygen-rich blood. Generally it’s a condition that’s a symptom of coronary heart disease and should not be ignored.

Arrhythmia, which is when the heart beats change from its normal pattern to an irregular or erratic rhythm. Generally, arrhythmias can be corrected or through the use of a pacemaker.

Heart Failure, this condition occurs when a person’s heart has been damaged and is in a weakened state and cannot provide the necessary level of blood transfer that their body needs. Heart failure typically appears as tiredness, fluid retention and breathlessness.

Heart disease is a condition where the heart becomes damaged and normal heart tissue is replaced with scar tissue, making the vital organ enlarged, thick or rigid. The changes from heart disease make the organ weak, and less able to properly pump blood through the body and maintain a normal heart rhythm. Related issues can include heart valve problems.

High Cholesterol or hyperlipidemia is a very common problem where cholesterol, a waxy fat substance builds up on the inside of arteries, making it harder for blood to travel through the body. Cholesterol is present in a lot of foods including, cheese, egg yolks, fried and processed foods, ice cream, pastries and red meat. Managing cholesterol levels is done through a variety of tasks, such as: eating a diet of low-cholesterol foods, regular exercise and in some cases, taking medications. Some people have high-cholesterol due to their family’s genes and can even have complications or heart attacks from it at an early age. If the condition goes unmanaged, it can lead to higher blood pressure and potentially blood clots that can be deadly if they make their way to the brain or the heart.

Our kidneys help to keep us healthy and our bodies running properly. Chronic Kidney Disease is a group of conditions that over time damage your kidneys and prevent them from doing their job of cleaning our body of waste and providing healthy, clean blood throughout the body. The condition can be caused by a number of factors including: diabetes and high blood pressure among other disorders. Detecting the signs of chronic kidney disease early on help to prevent the condition from getting worse. If left untreated, kidney disease can result in kidney failure, requiring dialysis and a kidney transplant.

Diabetes is a disease where a person’s body cannot or has issues processing insulin.

There are two types of diabetes; Type I diabetes is when a person’s pancreas doesn’t produce insulin and Type II is when the body doesn’t produce enough insulin or the body is unable to properly process insulin. In both cases the patient’s blood sugar rises and if not corrected or managed this can lead to kidney disease, heart disease and blindness.

One of the most common issues associated with diabetes is diabetic non-healing wounds, which occur due to the higher blood sugar leading to reduced circulation and issues with the body being able to heal.
